Horror was my first true escape. Long before the internet made everything accessible, I had Video Vision. Their horror section was tucked away in the basement—a literal descent into another world that made every rental feel like a rite of passage. In those days, you couldn't check a Rotten Tomatoes score; you relied on word of mouth, and that trust was everything.
That visceral connection to the genre never left me. I’ve always been captivated by the atmosphere, the creatures, and the stories that haunt us long after the credits roll.
Every year, as the leaves turn and October begins, I return to these roots. Throughout the month of October, I dedicate myself to painting a different horror icon in watercolor, capturing the characters that defined my love for the macabre.
This gallery is a collection of those daily tributes.
